Good News from Schenectady!

Everything went well and we got unanimous approval from the Council members. We even had the Director of Parks and Recreation answering questions for us. They moved to give us appproval for developing a course and to start fundraising. As of right now, we are a go and do not even need to go next Monday, where we will be on the consent agenda. The Gazette was there and they will probably be contacting us for a story. The only questions that may arise are if any of the public starts to make noise about not wanting it. If I hear of that, then we can bring a group of people to show support.

Justin Hoffman

I camp up at Frosty Acres the night before Camp Bisco every year! It would be awesome to have a course so close to there.... I'll have to start leaving days before Bisco now since I already hit up buzzys/warwick then J-park!!

Northeast Pest Control, Upper Union St. Business District, and Freeman's Bridge Liquor and Wine all are going to sponsor a hole. That's 12 holes spoken for and only 6 left! Here is the list.

1. Hoffman Law Firm
2. The Gazette
3. Northeastern Fine Jewelry
4. Union Beverage
5. The Van Dyke
6. Upper Union St. Business District
7. Smith Barney
8. Pinhead Susan's
9. Freeman's Bridge Wine and Liquor

11. Northeast Pest Control
12. ?
13. ?
14. Doug Hoffman
15. Bombers Burrito Bar
16. ?
17. ?
18. ?

These are not finalized yet but this is what it looks like right now. We already have ideas of several other sponsors so if you do too, now is the time! Email me at hoffmanj@schenectady.k12.ny.us and I will send you the two page form to give to businesses.

Our Discs are in and we have bumper stickers coming in a couple of days. 25 dollar donation and you get a disc (beast, leopard, roc, or aviar). Maybe 2 dollars for a bumper sticker. We will probably order the baskets mid February and start asap in March. Can't wait!

We have the baskets! Laughing

I have a meeting set up with the parks director this week. We are going to discuss how to get all of the work done. I want to work during Spring break (4/4 - 4/10). Hopefully we can get all the baskets in the ground that week.

Introducing......... The Central Park Disc Golf Course in Schenectady, NY!!!!

While we were finishing up on #11, we heard 3-4 wild crashing noises coming from the direction of hole 15(on the other side of the lake).

The red arrow on the map shows his approximate flight path........about 200 feet!!! Shocked

The green cap in the pic below is the cover for the sleeve on hole #15

...........AND THE AMAZING THING, HE GOT OUT AND TRIED TO RUN OFF !!! The cops picked him up in the park, stumbling around near the lake.
