mr bandremer would like to remember the untimely passing of his brother 10 yrs ago this june with a charity disc golf event. he would like to do it with disc golfers. we have a chance to to play everyones fav doubles format, double basket double doubles, and with the length of day, can play one of the rounds from the blue tee. we are looking for a sunday in june and would like to know if there is an interest in such an event. it would be 2 rounds and we would be looking for cash donation and run a ctb between rounds. does any one have an interest in playing in such an event and do they know of any conflict of disc golf interests on any given sunday in june? This is a popular format, and we'll be playing for a great cause. It's what Skylands is all about. With only 36 teams, we anticipate a strong competitive field. And with cash payouts for all divisions (yes - Ams and Recs, too!), some pretty awesome First Place trophies, bagels for breakfast, players packs for all, and super generosity from our sponsors, this is going to be a memorable day, to say the least.

Double Basket Double Doubles is played as follows:
This is a bring your own partner, 2 round tournament.
Both the Silver (short) tees and Blue (Long) tees will be played in the 2 rounds.
Player A drives, player B drives.
Player A plays his partners drive, player B plays his partners drive.
One player holes out at silver basket, the other player holes out at blue basket.
Total of throws for both players shall be that score for the hole.
In the event of an ace the player that aces will play to the unaced basket from his partners drive.(happened 4 times last year)

LOVE the idea !!!

my dad and my family used hospice services (Passaic County) when my dad was dealing with end-of-life issues in 2009. they do a fantastic job at a time in our lives when we all need support.

i'd be willing to help out in any way i can. but i do need to temper that a little in that my new property will be taking up a lot of time this year so its hard to know how available i will actually be.

i would be willing to use The Oasis for a gathering or tourney central or however else it would help with an event.
maybe it could be media central.

the wolfe woods C-Tier is on saturday the 23rd of june.

playing double basket double doubles is a GREAT idea!!!

I got to play this event for the first time this past Dec and had a great time. This is an enjoyable way to raise some money and awareness for a good cause. I'm looking forward to playing.

6/16 - J-Park Jammer
6/17 - Fathers Day
6/23 - Wolfe Tournament

My vote would be for June 9th or 10th.. I do prefer a Saturday - plus isn't there a Sunday league at Warwick.. don't know if that plays into anything.

after giving it more thought about june 24th i realized that as far as a fundraiser this might not be a good idea. we would be asking people to pay for 2 tourneys and then donate some more money. while a weekend of disc golf is a great idea this may tap the finacial reserves of a lot of people. that i dont want to do. so i throw it back to the 10th of june. sorry for any confusion. FYI the Jammer is now NYS Championships and will be a 2 day event 6/16, 6/17 to decide who is gonna represent NY at the USDGC. 2 rounds of 18 on saturday, 1 round of 27 and a final safari 9 on sunday.

Roach I love double basket double doubles and a round from the blues SWEET! I hope to bring some DisCappers down for this.

Summer DBDD's, love it. Having enough daylight for a round from the blue tee's will be epic!

I will be there for sure... either defending mixed or in pro.

Stoked to be hosting the party across the street afterwords!

Hello all,
In conjunction with the FDR Fool's Fest and the Brian Bandremer Double Basket Double Doubles tournament, I am pleased to announce the Brian Bandremer Basket Raffle.

The FDR Fool's Fest has donated a brand new Innova Discatcher Sport basket, valued $200.00, to be raffled off at the Fool's Fest.

All proceeds will be donated to The United Hospice of Rockland County.

The Discatcher Sport is a great practice basket, and can also serve as a target for temporary courses, camps, schools and home. With just 5 parts, it assembles with the help of a screwdriver in about 5 minutes. The DISCatcher® Sport is PDGA approved for tournament play, and is fun for all ages!

Tickets will be available at various events, such as weeklies, monthlies and wherever else we can make them available.

The raffle will take place on Sunday, April 1st 2012 after the final round of the Fool's Fest.

Tickets are $5.00/each or 3/$10.00

The winner does NOT need to be present to win!

Please show your support by purchasing as many tickets as you can afford!!!

Please message me if you have any questions.

Thank you for your support!!!

Really awesome, Michael. Thank you!!!

To all who would like to purchase raffle tickets for this great basket ($5 for one, $10 for three), I will be at the Wolfe Woods Monthly this Sunday selling tickets. All proceeds going to a great cause - United Hospice of Rockland!

Tickets will also be available at the FDR Fools Fest on April 1. And as Mike said, you do not have to attend the event when the winning raffle ticket is pulled. We will have the names and phone numbers of all who purchase tickets on the back of the tickets.

IF you are NOT attending the monthly this Sunday, or the Fools Fest, just PM me (with your email address included) for my home address and you can then send me a check (made out to United Hospice of Rockland) for the amount of raffle tickets you wish to purchase. Once received, I will drop you a line that your donation has been received, and whether or not I see you prior to the Fools Fest Event, when the winning ticket will be pulled, I will personally deliver your tickets to Michael at the beginning of that event (as I will be assisting him to TD that event).

Thank you all! Skylands Rocks!

JByrd has encountered some technical issues with PayPal, which we hope to eventually correct.

For now, especially given that we are only offering 36 team spots for this great tournament, we encourage you to do one of the following:

- Send a personal check, bank check or money order made out to Scott Bandremer, and mail to:

Scott Bandremer
27 Susan Drive
New City, NY 10956

- Give cash to either myself or JByrd if you see us, as we will be carrying a payment envelope and portable ledger with us at any events we attend.
Scott will be at FDR Fools Fest April 1.
JByrd will be at upcoming league nights at Buzzys.

Again, if possible, we kindly ask to receive one payment per team.
And of course, please post your team name and members, as well as division on this message board.

Thanks for your interest in joining us for this great day!
Feel free to email me with any questions:
sjb.consulting@yahoo.com

Scott

Mr. Math (aka co-TD), there aren't 4 divisions. There are 3 divisions - Pro, Am, Rec. Three.

It was decided that mixed teams (previously the 4th division) would instead be integrated into one of the 3 divisions, choice of the mixed team what division to play in.

Way to keep the tools in the shed sharp, says grandma.

Hi Mike -

Here's the deal. As a charity event with only 36 teams, we have limited space. And because we are a team oriented tourney, it more difficult to handle cancellations and replacements, which we won't be able to accept from anyone unless 1) there is a replacement team waiting in the wings on our wait list, or 2) the team pulling out has a replacement team to step in. Again, it's all about the making sure we do the right thing for the charity (ie raise money, fill the field).

I will put you and Jeff on the am list with an asterisk. As we approach sell out, and a wait list looks likely, I will ask you to pay us at that point or risk losing your spot. With limited space, it has to be a first pay, first served situation. I don't really like setting precedents like this, since we as TDs need to know exactly where we stand with our player/team list prior to the event. As JByrd referenced, there is much planning going on here to coordinate this particular event. So I encourage others to either pay via paypal or send me a check or money order to sign up and lock up your spot. People are starting to send in their money, so we'll just need to see how this goes.

Thanks for your understanding.

Hi -

Monies/entries are starting to come in. Whether you are paying via paypal, check, or cash, I need for ALL teams to post on the message board (after they have sent in their payments) their Team Name, their team members, and what division they are playing.

Thanks!

In fact...Eric Rakers has now registered his AM team - Mota-Vators!

Are you an AM player? Maybe seeking a solid partner?

Mr Rakers is now accepting applications for the position of partner!

We are already 1/3 full. Just five weeks till the tourney at beautiful Warwick Town Park!

Come on SKYLANDS people - time to put your teams together and register for this great event!

Go to top of string or home page to register....one of the most popular formats!

Who's going to to take home the CASH in each division?

Who's going to take home the very cool trophies for each division (one for each team member)?

Who's going to come collect their players packs, with lots of good stuff?

Plus CTBs, CTPs, prizes for best team name, and friendly competition between NEFA and Skylands teams!

Not to mention raising money for a great cause!

Send those registrations in!!!

A number of people have told me their intent is to play the tournament, but not sign up until close to the event. In theory, I have no issue with this, IF there is space in the tournament. We are only having 36 teams. Right now we are 1/3 sold out. Obviously, teams that register (pay entry fee, give team name and team members) will go up on the players list. As this is a charity event, we just have to make sure we do our best to fill the slots. Not to mention that late entries makes it difficult for us to gauge how to purchase stuff for the tourney (such as for the players pack, food items, etc).

So....I'm pleased there are many out there planning to come in. I will post your team prior to payment, IF you post your team name and team members on the site prior to payment. I will mark it "not-paid" with the understanding that those who make payment will get preference if the tourney sells out.

Thanks for your understanding and compliance.

I'm pleased to say that Dave Roach of Team Fetid Meat has generously sponsored Hole 1 of our tournament (in addition to bidding on our Dark Star Orchestra tickets). A big thanks to Dave.

Additional hole sponsorships available - just $20.

as always we will be looking for donations for the ctb. $2 bucks a throw 3 for $5, 7 for $10 dealers choice, maybe even put some good stuff within reach of the rag arm players, just saying. this is a CHARITY event and for and extra $10 a man, $20 for your team you can sponser a hole. the hole which scott has given me credit for is actually a pimpy/roach production, we are sharing the cost. hopefully you never need hospice services, I know i want to go like my grandfather, in my sleep, not like the passengers in the car screaming and shouting. a good cause here and a moment of pride for Scott. Never met Brain but i am honored to support this cause. be generous people, be generous. ROACH

PS don't know why but i never have thrown during a ctb, i must be doing something else.

Congratulations to Dave Roach for successfully bidding on the Dark Star Orchestra tickets, all proceeds going to our tourney charity, United Hospice of Rockland.

With just a few weeks until our tournament, we are almost half sold out, and have only 20 team spots remaining at this point.

So...keep sending in your registrations!
(See top of string to register your team)
